A Little News

I spoke with the director of our adoption agency this morning and she feels confident that she will have a referral for us (match us with a child) around the first week of October.

The reason for the delay is that our baby is likely going to come from an orphanage that has just recently partnered with our agency. Our director wants to take a trip over to see the orphanage and children at the end of September to make sure that everything is okay before she gives out the referrals. She has told me that they do have babies who are waiting and that if all goes well ours will be one of them.

After we receive our referral the big concern will be obtaining a court date. The courts will resume at the beginning of October, but there is a backlog from families whose cases were put on hold last spring (long story). These families will be the priority of the courts once they open. It is possible that we could get a court date relatively quickly or it could take months, like up to six.

So, we will continue to pray that God will bless this whole process and that He will protect and care for our child while we cannot. We ask for your prayers regarding a speedy court date as well so that we can bring our child(ren) home soon. Thank you!
