Baby's First Christmas

We had a wonderful first Christmas together this year! We are so thankful for all that we have been blessed with and are reminded of how good God is in that He sent Christ in the flesh so that we could be adopted into His family.

Annie and I really enjoyed the season at home; we had our Christmas music playing every day from mid-November through Christmas day (well, maybe even a little longer). We did a lot of baking, playing in the snow, shopping, making gifts, singing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Matt, Annie, and I did our Christmas together on Christmas Eve morning. Matt needed to finish his message and prepare the service for the evening so we sipped coffee and opened gifts at 6:00am. It was great. Annie received some wooden play food, a puzzle, clothes, pajamas, and a doll. She really got into opening her gifts and would say, “Wow” for each item. Instead of buying each other gifts this year, Matt and I put the money we would have spent into our “Ethiopian” savings account – the best gift.

We had so much fun on Christmas Eve at my parents’ house, and spent Christmas morning with my family, Christmas day at Grandpa George and Grandma Joan’s, and the evening in Chetek with Pete and Ione. What a lovely Christmas!
